Nine people, including the driver, were injured last weekend in Mobile, AL, when a Wave Transit bus hit an SUV and a tree in succession. According to officials, the bus struck a Land Rover that was backing out of a driveway before losing control and careening into a nearby tree.
Passengers in the bus said that people were thrown around violently during the crash, though the driver was the most badly injured. Rescue workers had to extract her from the bus’ crumpled forward end. Five injured passengers were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
